Electric Banjo
The Beardsell Banger is a long overdue arrival on the electro acoustic scene. Designed at the behest of banjo great Bill Evans and avante garde instrumentalist Henry Kaiser, this electric banjo is hand built right down to its Alnico hand wound pickups and custom knobs. It is a feast for the eyes, ears, and amps. The construction combines elements of banjo, dobro and arch-top design. The arched dome of the "skin" recreates the percussive nature of the banjo but with stability and sustain that can be amplified and processed in new and interesting ways. The 26" scale of the neck features either the traditional 5th fret tuner or a full 5th string with preset hooks for alternate tunings.
